Along with the YSL Glossy Stain, I also bought the Estée Lauder Double Wear Lipstick in Stay Mauve. The were three colours that I had really liked, Stay Mauve, Stay Coral and Stay Ginger and I was terribly confused as to which one I should buy. But I guess I was in a “pink” mood that day (even the YSL gloss is pink) and so Stay Mauve won.
It comes in a gorgeous gold and navy, fluted metal tube that looks very luxurious. At least till it is brand new. Almost 6 months of being dumped in my handbag with tons of other stuff has scratched the metal surface a bit but it still looks very chic.
This lipstick is simply amazing! You have to try it to believe it. It is so rich and creamy and yet matte but not the dry-as-the-Sahara-Ruby-Woo kind of matte. It doesn’t dry the lips nor does it make them flaky. And it is intensely pigmented. Just one swipe gives a whole lot of opaque coverage even on my pigmented lips! And unlike a lot of other long lasting lipsticks that feel dry after a couple of hours of wear, this one feels comfortable and quite weightless. I love the lovely fragrance of Estée Lauder lipsticks. Even while applying, it feels soft and doesn’t tug on the lips either.
This swatch is just one SINGLE swipe of the lipstick. Can you see the creamy, pigmented colour. And the soft, gentle sheen? It’s one of the best lipsticks out there and this colour is very wearable. I think it would suit most skin tones. Most of the times when I’m rushing out, I just quickly swipe on this lipstick and it brightens up my face even if I’m not wearing any other makeup. The formulation, texture and lasting power of this lipstick have impressed me so much that I’m definitely getting the Stay Coral and Stay Ginger soon.
This is how it looks on me. The pic is really bad I know. I took this pic when I was going to the Purplle and Soulflower Blogger Meet in March. Currently, this is a lipstick I use most frequently, especially on those occasions when I want to avoid having to re-touch my lippie.
The price is Rs. 1735. Yes, it is expensive, but then it is Estée Lauder. And since need just a swipe on your lips, plus you don’t need to re-apply frequently, it’s going to last you quite long too! So isn’t that good value for money? What do you think?
