That is the question I kept asking myself all of yesterday when I got to know that my Fabbag (Vellvette in its previous avatar) had reached home. And yet again, I was out the whole day so I had to wait till night to open the bag and see the contents. I was really exhausted when I reached home but I was curious to see what was in the Fabbag too. After all, I had really liked the contents of my December Fabbag, so I ripped open the carton…and here’s what I had got.
Ok, I know I had said it last month that the December bag was the best bag so far. I had also said that I wish I could say that each month. Well, I guess the Fabbag team heard me coz the bag this month is truly the best in terms of quality of the bag (will talk of the contents soon). The material, the stitching and the colour all make the bag really smart. The gold logo on the crimson bag also looks “classy and sassy”. Truly, the best bag till date (and once again, I hope I can say that next month too…and the month after that…and the month after that….). Well, let’s see the contents now.
NYX Diamond Sparkling Lipstick – Sparkling Red
I do-not-like NYX! I had received a NYX eyeshadow in the first ever Vellvette box that I had ordered and I never used it. I don’t know why but for some reason, this brand and it’s products have never appealed to me. The colour of this lipstick isn’t really red, but a dark reddish-pink loaded with silver shimmer that gives it a frost finish that I didn’t really like when I swatched it on my hand. The packaging is exactly similar to the Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick.
Nyassa Almond Body Butter
Exactly a year ago, Jan 2013, I had received the Belgian Chocolate Body Scrub from Nyassa in my Vellvette box which smelt verry nice but was a disappointing product (read full review here). So, I was a bit skeptical when I saw a body butter from Nyassa in the Fabbag. But, I was in for a pleasant surprise because not only is the almond butter truly soft and creamy and moisturising, it also has a lovely, delicate fragrance that reminded me of one of the baby creams I had used for the kids (can’t remember the name though). Looking forward to using this. 100% Vegetarian, Cruelty-Free!
Naked Potion Lotion
NAKED is an organic brand started by supermodel Lisa Haydon. The Potion Lotion moisturiser is completely preservative free and hence has to be kept in the refrigerator. And look at the ingredients; aloe vera, vitamin E oil, rose hip oil, Lavender oil, avocado oil, geranium oil…all of them organic!!! What’s not to love? And the lavender oil in it makes it smells heavenly. Organic, vegetarian, cruelty free!
I Love…Mango Face Mask
You all know how much my sons and I love the I Love….shower gels (read post here). So of course, I was was very happy to find the I Love…Mango Face masks in my Fabbag. Coincidentally, the shower gel that Vellvette had sent me in my June bag was the Mango one too! This is a peel-off mask for all skin types. Unfortunately I don’t think I Love… is a cruelty free brand 🙁
(I am wondering though, why other subscribers got three sachets in their bags while I got two??)
So, those were the contents of my January 2014 Fabbag. Quite fabulous as befits their name (with the exception of NYX, but that is my personal dislike). And very good value for money too. Jan was the last month of my current 6 month subscription. Am I renewing my subscription? Of course I am. I’m thinking of subscribing to the Men’s Fabbag too for hubby.
What about you? Did you like what you got in your Jan 2014 Fabbags?
