L'Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Serum and Cream - Anti-Aging Products That Actually Worked!!!

Whenever I see any new anti-aging products with their long claims, I just roll my eyes and say "Yea right!" Because let's face it, no cream is going to erase the signs of aging and make you look five years younger. Botox can do that, but then, along with the years, it also erases the expressions from your face. While anti-aging products can't really do much for existing fine lines / wrinkles, they can definitely be used as a preventive measure. L'Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Serum and Cream  are the latest additions in my skincare routine and after using them for three weeks, here is my review and the results I saw on my face.....

L'Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Anti-Aging Serum and Cream

CLAIMS

(Click here to go to the L'Oreal product page)
Highly concentrated actives - Triple action for skin quality transformation. reduce pores and wrinkles, replump skin.
1. RESURFACE: Smooth out pores with LHA, a mild exfoliating agent to refine the skin texture.
2. CORRECT WRINKLES: with Adenosine, a well-known anti-aging active ingredient to smooth out wrinkles.
3. REPLUMP & REDENSIFY: skin is moisturised and visibly plumpy. Restore skin elasticity with 3% concentrated Pro-Xylane that stimulates skin fiber synthesis to reinforce skin's inner support.
Immediately, skin is moisturised and smoother, visibly transformed: fine lines are less visible, the complexion looks more uniformed.
Day after day, wrinkles and pores are reduced. Skin regains it's elasticity and feels more bouncy.

SERUM

L'Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Serum

The serum comes in a dark plum gradient glass bottle with a pump which makes it hygienic as well as travel friendly. The texture is really light and it gets absorbed into the skin quickly and doesn't feel heavy, greasy or sticky. It has silicones due to which the skin feels silky smooth as though you've applied a primer. Though the bottle is really dark, if you hold it up to the light, you can see the amount of product remaining so you know when you're running out. The pump dispenses the right amount of product so there's no wastage. I need two pumps to cover my entire face and neck.

CREAM

L'Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Anti-Aging Cream

The L'Oreal Revitalift Laser X3 Cream comes in a glass jar with an inner lid to keep the contents from spilling out. The colour of the jar is the same as that of the serum bottle and packaging of both products has a very premium look. The texture of the cream is thicker than the serum but I wouldn't call it a cream. The texture is more gel-creme than cream. This too, is easily absorbed and doesn't make my skin greasy or shiny. The quantity I've shown in the picture on my hand, is the amount I need for the entire face. And then, the same amount for my neck. Both, the cream and the serum have a really nice, pleasant fragrance.

MY EXPERIENCE

Recently, I had started seeing fine lines form on my forehead each time I raised my eyebrows. You know, those three horizontal lines across your forehead? Yes, I'm talking about those. My dad has those and, at his age, they give him quite a distinguished look. At 35, I can do without those for another decade (or more). I was also seeing some fine lines form on my neck. Everyone has those two fold lines on their neck, but I was beginning to see them become visibly more  pronounced.

In the three weeks that I have been using this serum and cream, the fine lines on the forehead and neck are GONE!!! Yes, I am more shocked rather than surprised because I never expected such amazing results. I guess, the products were so effective because these fine lines were a recent addition to my face. On existing wrinkles or slightly deeper lines, I don't know how effective these would be.
The pores on my face also appear smaller, and the skin looks smoother, but that could also be because of the Clarins Iris Toner that I use. But overall, yes, these two products do live up to two out of the three claims. I can't say anything about the claim to Replump and Redensify because my skin is quite decently plump anyway.

HOWEVER, the ingredients spoil it a bit for me. The serum has silicones, which, while making your skin feel smooth, also tend to pull out moisture from it, as well as phenoxyethanol, a preservative that is supposed to be as bad as parabens. While it is naturally occurring in green tea, grapefruit etc, most cosmetics and skincare brands use the synthetic, chemical version of it.  (Just google it, there is loads of information on it on the web). The cream has silicones and phenoxyethanol and parabens! And another thing, L'Oreal isn't a cruelty-free brand :(

So, do the short term benefits outweigh the "potential" long-term hazards of these ingredients? I guess that is for each individual to decide.

PS - PR sample. Brutally honest review based on my experience with the products.

  5. I really didn't expect such good results. But I am worried about the parabens etc. though there is no conclusive evidence, it's better to play safe.

The results are imprsssive dear.. I have started noticing some fine lines and open pores too and would be adding this as my next!!
Wish L'oreal could do without Parabens and all but if things work i am still good with that! :)

  8. My mum is using this and so far she has liked it but for me it was a bit greasy therefore, I opted for serum that has impressed me. :) Nicely explained. :)

  9. I'm tempted, at 30 I'm starting to see some lines too and have been searching for something effective. But the silicone- don't know how my sensitive skin would take it.
