I have been lusting after the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipstick Rebellious Rose ever since this range of lipsticks have been launched here. This particular shade was out of stock each time that I went to the store and so I finally bought a dupe, the Inglot AMC Lip Paint 65. However, on the last day of my holiday in Spain, at the Duty Free of the El Prat airport, Barcelona, I saw the a couple of girls trying out this shade and I decided I had to have it. Read on to know more about this gorgeous colour…..
About Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipsticks
“Color with the power to transform your lips, your look, your attitude.
Super creamy, glides on effortlessly, covers evenly. Sensually soft and smooth, luxuriously comfortable 6 hour wear. The lipstick bullet is shaped to sculpt the curve of your lips. The case feels like luxury in your hands. And with one click, case closed.”
The Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipsticks have a very chic, elegant packaging that is truly very luxurious. Estee’s signature colours of navy and gold come together in a minimalist tube without the bling factor of the Pure Color Long Last lipsticks. It has a magnetic closure and clicks shut firmly so there’s no fear of the cap coming off in the handbag.
Rebellious Rose is a stunning colour! It is a beautiful dusty rose that doesn’t need much work. I can wear it over a bare face to add some colour or I can wear it with a full face of makeup for a gorgeous polished look. The colour itself isn’t bright but it brightens up my face when I wear it. And a colour such as this is very versatile; you can wear it anytime, anywhere. It goes opaque in one swipe even on my pigmented lips. The finish is neither matte nor glossy but a smooth creamy one with a little sheen. Feels incredibly comfortable and luxe on my lips.
I simply love the texture and pigmentation of this lipstick. It feels so lightweight and creamy, it caresses my lips smoothly and doesn’t feel dry at all. It lasts for a good 4-5 hours with a coffee and snack in between. It does fade a bit from the inner rim after eating. Also, this lipstick does transfer so be prepared for the lipstick rim on the glass/cup/straw.
I haven’t been able to take good pictures when I’ve been wearing this lipstick but I’ll surely do a proper LOTD with this one soon. Till then, take a look at the swatch….
Isn’t it a beautiful, wearable colour? It will definitely suit all skintones and for the deeper ones, this would be the perfect MLBB shade. Like I mentioned earlier, the Inglot lip polish is a dupe of this shade. Here are both of them swatched together….
The shades are almost identical. The reason why they appear to be different in the swatch is because of the finish. The Pure Color Envy has a creamy finish while the lip paint has a glossy finish. Of course, while the Inglot AMC lip paint is gorgeous and has a nice texture, it certainly doesn’t come close to the incredible texture of Estee. But then, there is also a huge difference in price as well!
The Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipsticks are priced at ₹2,300 but I bought mine for €25 (approximately ₹1,780) at the duty free. I really wish I had bought more shades because I love everything about this lipstick, from the texture to the pigmentation to the finish.
I kept hunting for the travel edition trio in the Pure Color Envy but none of the airports had it, neither in Mumbai/Doha/Madrid/Ibiza/Barcelona! It wasn’t even there in the in-flight duty free magazine so perhaps it has been discontinued. Anyway, I am definitely getting a couple more shades in this range.
Have you tried the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy lipsticks? Which is your favorite shade in the collection? Do let me know.
