You have to hand it to The Body Shop for coming out with some fabulous and fragrant collections. Their latest launch, the Fuji Green Tea Range is a refreshing departure from the usual fragrances floral or fruity ones associated with bath and body care products. This range has a delightful, light fragrance that smells like a blend of citrus-infused green tea with a touch of mint. It is such a mild and pleasant fragrance that men will like it as well without finding it feminine. Here’s my review of the Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub and Body Butter from The Body Shop…
About The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Range

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Scrub
A gentle exfoliant, this is a very pretty looking scrub. Tiny white granular bits along with green micro-granules floating in a pale translucent green jelly-like base. Add to that the refreshing fragrance and using this scrub becomes a multi-sensory experience. This non-foaming scrub is really gentle and yet makes the skin soft and smooth. The scrub particles and micro-granules don’t dissolve however and just get rinsed off with the water. It is great for anyone with sensitive skin who can’t handle more ‘abrasive’ sugar or salt scrubs. Since my body can handle stronger scrubs, I use this one 2-3 times a week.
Packaged in a vintage plastic jar with a silver cap, this scrub looks really nice sitting on the bathroom shelf. Of course, since it is a jar, it is better to use a spatula to scoop out the product and keep it hygienic.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter
What do I say about TBS body butters that I haven’t said before? I simply LOVE these, especially the Vanilla one (reviewed here). The thing about The Body Shop’s body butters is that they have a varying consistancy across fragrances with the some of them being slightly lighter and some being thicker. The Gingerbread, Strawberry and this Fuji Green Tea ones are lighter than the Vanilla and Shea Butter ones. However, they are all incredibly hydrating and work wonders for dry skin in the winters. The only time I use body butters in this season is after an intensive body scrub session when my skin needs to be slathered with a rich butter or after my nighttime shower if my skin is feeling extra dry.
The Fuji Green Tea Body Butter too has the same refreshing fragrance as the scrub. Unlike most other TBS collections, the green tea fragrance doesn’t really linger too long on the skin and hence doesn’t interfere with any other perfume you wear over it.

This is yet another delightful collection from The Body Shop, one which has a light, refreshing fragrance perfect for the hot and wet monsoons. The fragrance is unisex so your better half will not balk at using these (like they would do for strawberry or moringa fragranced products). While I prefer slightly stronger scrubs, the Fuji Green Tea with its fun jelly texture is great for sensitive skins and for more frequent exfoliating. I’m not too fond of the micro-granules since they aren’t water soluble and apparently also cause a lot of damage to the marine environment. Wish TBS hadn’t used those. The body butter is wonderful as are all the others from The Body Shop.
