It has been an incredibly hot and humid summer this year and I wonder how long the torture will continue till the rain Gods deign to shower us (pun intended) with their blessings. Needless to say, I don’t feel like putting on makeup in this heat and when I absolutely have to wear makeup, I prefer foundations that feel light on the skin, don’t clog the pores and that give a slightly matte finish because in the heat it would start looking dewy in no time. So here are the 5 foundations for summer that I have been loving…..
My Favourite 5 Foundations For Summer
There are times when I want a very sheer finish, like if I am going out for dinner or a kiddie birthday party while at other times, I need more coverage. These foundations vary in finish from sheer to full coverage and yet, don’t feel heavy on the skin.
- L’Oreal Paris Infallible Powder Foundation
- The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream
- The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation
- Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
- Rouge Bunny Rouge Skin Soul Drops Foundation Essence
L’Oreal Paris Infallible Powder Foundation
This powder has been my go to almost all summer! Because it is a powder, it helps to control the sebum and gives a shine-free look. Of course, it has buildable coverage but I prefer to use this quite sheer. My prefered way to apply this powder foundation is with a kabuki brush because that helps me buff in the powder to get a seamless effect.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Flawless BB Cream
This is perhaps the only BB cream that I have repurchased because of it’s lightweight texture, sheer finish and the tea tree oil as it’s ingredient. As mentioned in the original review, the texture of this BB cream is totally unlike the thick, gloopy texture most other BB creams have which is why it’s my favourite for daily wear.
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
I absolutely LOVE this foundation because it is just purrrrrfect for the summers. Lightweight buildable coverage, a velvety feel, blends quickly and eaily even with fingers and “natural, real-looking” finish – what’s not to love. Add to that a shade that matches my skintone exactly. And oh, let’s not forget how affordable this foundation is. Read my detailed review here.
The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation + Rouge Bunny Rouge Skin Soul Drops Foundation Essence
The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation is a really nice, lightweight foundation that gives a sheer finish. The shade I have, however, is a bit dark for me. On the other hand, the Rouge Bunny Rouge Skin Soul Drops Foundation Essence are highly pigmented foundation drops that can be mixed with primer or other skincare to create your custom coverage. The shade I have in this is a bit light for me. When I blend the two – Bingo! Perfect shade with high coverage. I mix around two drops of the RBR Skin Soul Drops with one pump of the TBS Fresh Nude foundation with a serum / primer depending on my skin’s needs and I get the perfect shade with the kind of coverage I want.
So, those were my favourite 5 foundations for summer. Does any one feature on your favourites list too? Which is the foundation you have been loving in Summer? Or do you skip foundation altogether? Do let me know in the comments below.
