“The Himalaya Tan Removal Orange Peel-Off Mask is an effective blend of natural skin lightening extracts of orange peel and honey which help reduce skin tan from the very first use. Orange peel works to control the melanin synthesis with the peeling action helping to remove skin tan. Honey soothes and moisturises the skin.”

Packaged in a travel-friendly tube with a flip-top cap, the Himalaya Tan Removal Orange Peel-Off Mask stands upright on the bathroom shelf and doesn’t take up much space. This kind of packaging is the best since it is very convinient and hygienic too, unlike jars from which you need to scoop out the product with your fingers or a spatula.

The mask itself is a thick, pulpy gel with the delightful, refreshing fragrance of oranges. Since this a peel-off mask, you have to apply a thin layer on the skin. A thick layer takes longer to dry and more difficult to peel-off.

The mask sticks to the skin and when you peel it off, it takes off with it the dead skin cells as well any residual dirt on the skin. This is why the skin appears brighter, cleaner and more radiant after using a peel-off mask. I have used this Orange Peel-Off Mask 3 times and each time after having spent a couple of hours in the sun. While I can’t vouch for the claims of it “removing” tanning, it certainly does prevent tanning when used immediately after sun exposure.

This mask would work well for normal, combination and oily  skin types. However, if you dry or sensitive skin, I would advise you not to use it since there is high alcohol content in the mask which would irritate those skin types. The peeling action too, stretches and aggravates sensitive skin, which is why, each time I use it, I avoid applying it around my mouth since the skin there is vey sensitive.

My Views

Priced at an affordable ₹130, the Himalaya Tan Removal Orange Peel-Off Mask is a nice mask to prevent a tan from building up after sun exposure. I am not sure how effective it would be in actually removing a tan aquired after a weekend at the beach, however. Also, while it is great for normal, combination and oily skin types, I would certainly not recommend it for those with dry and sensitive skins.
